Short film strand · 9 films · 65 min

Nine Israeli animated films presenting a range of voices, worlds and visual languages. A space where reality can come apart, change and be built anew.

Programme:

I Hear Everything — Shahar Arapov (Israel, 2026, 10 min)
Animated documentary. Shahar (30) suffers from misophonia — an extreme sensitivity to everyday sounds like chewing, honking, and street noise, which manifest as physical torture. As the condition threatens his sanity and his relationship, he flees to Yeruham, a quiet desert town in the South. Yet, it is precisely there that he encounters the most jarring noise of all.

No Witches in the Valley — Ayala Sharot (Israel, 2025, 13 min)
Which regrets fill the heart at the last moments of a woman’s life? Which thoughts occupy the mind of a woman who dedicated her life to the Socialist dream, and lost her son’s love along the way? “No Witches in the Valley” is a story about intergenerational trauma and the ability to overcome it. It is a love letter to my grandmother, whose voice was erased from the pages of history.

Sock Horror — Itay Gerson, Sun Ezer (Israel, 2025, 5 min)
To find his lost sock puppet, a scruffy and somewhat shady man crawls into the mouth of a washing machine and finds himself in a dark, grim world of socks. There, his old sock has a surprise waiting for him, one he’ll never forget, and teaches him what it truly means to be a sock.

Savta and I — Tomer Shaham (Israel, 2025, 8 min)
After discovering his grandmother’s nose frying in a pan, Tomer tries to repair her failing body until, she asks him (with a smile) to end her life

F***ING WAR — Ohad Manor (Israel, 2025, 6 min)
One night in Jerusalem, a chance encounter through a dating app lead Palestinian Iyad and Israeli Maor for a mix of wild sex and a power struggle. When it seems the night is about to end, a rocket siren sends them half naked to the stairwell surrounded by hostile neighbours.

In Our Flesh — David Lehan (Israel, 2025, 5 min)
An anthology presenting three stories of creation.Three variations on the emergence of life, exploring the tension between matter, desire, and spirit.

Without Noticing — Stav Mizrahi (Israel, 2025, 5 min)
A short animated film about the everyday encounters between a parent and child, exploring how the pace of modern life, daily pressures, and constant demands can pull us away from meaningful moments of presence and connection.

Guygu — Chen Heifetz, Jordan Barr (Israel, 2025, 7 min)
A short animated documentary about Guy Gilboa Dalal, who was kidnapped from the Nova party and was held hostage by Hamas for over two years.

The short film features Guy’s story through the voices of his family. They share memories from his childhood, recount the traumatic events of his abduction, and describe Guy’s love of anime and his hopes for the trip of a lifetime to Japan. The film blurs the lines between reality and fantasy – between the horrifying moments of the kidnapping, drawn from real footage provided by Guy’s family, and the agonizing silence that followed. What has he endured in captivity? How does he pass the time? We focused on the hope that, in his darkest hours, Guy might find solace in the fantastical worlds he conjured up, inspired by the anime he adores. This film was created during the time of guys captivity.

Cold Hands — Noga Erlich Kochavi (Israel, 2026, 6 min)
After her grandmother’s death, Ikki avoids confronting her grief by escaping into a surreal world of packages, reels, and giant bones. As the feed spirals into overload and reality fractures, she finds her own way to face the loss.
