The exhibition "Heaven and Earth" presents the works of 12 artists studying in the Shenkar Master of Arts program. The exhibition was formed during a thematic course that dealt with expanding the students' ability to act in the field of art outside of school.
The title of the exhibition, "Heaven and Earth, " was born from a number of works that evoke associations about higher and lower — between downward pull and thrust to detachment and levitation. Alongside these connections, the concept expresses an attempt to create order and distinction; it marks separateness and emphasizes the distances and differences, sometimes irreconcilable, between the different artistic languages.
From this separateness, the exhibition harnesses the external constraint of the gallery space and the exhibition time to examine different connection possibilities. It is a dynamic and playful process that produces surprising combinations, complementary moves, and unplanned tensions between the works.
