Veronika Fedorova is participating in the Greenhouse at the Fresh Paint art fair! Part of the series presented at the fair was created during the residency by @kakdelart and @herzl_house. This polyptych is a series of observations of one quiet, almost unnoticeable creature. I wanted to get to know it better, to study it, and to spend more time with it than I usually spend on a single still life. Because of this, a slower kind of perception emerges: not an instant reaction, but a gradual encounter. I wanted to create a sense of the presence of something very quiet and fragile, something that exists in its own time, – and to create a safe space for it to exist. Glass is an important part of the work. It is a boundary, a form of protection between its world and the real, external world. The boundary is transparent, almost invisible, but it is there. It creates a sense that this creature is inaccessible. I protected and preserved it, almost as if I had conserved it; now it is safe. And it will always live somewhere there, in the depths.
