A Tribute to a Pioneering Cinematographer and Filmmaker Yvonne who passed away earlier this year, left a profound mark on Israelidocumentary and narrative cinema. Through her artistic work, as well as herdedication as a teacher and mentor, she inspired generations of filmmakers andcinematographers.Hosted by filmmaker and Head of the Film Department at Beit Berl College, LimorPinhasov, the evening will open with a screening of Hunger (15 min.), a short filmdirected and photographed by Yvonne Miklós.The screening will be followed by a conversation featuring filmmakers andcollaborators from different stages of Yvonne’s life and career: from veteranfilmmakers who worked closely with her, to a longtime partner in film education, anda young cinematography student whose approach to light and image-making wasdeeply influenced by Yvonne.Participants include:Julie Shlez, filmmakerTulik Gaon, cinematographerAnat Tzum Eilon, editor and senior lecturer at the Hamidrasha Faculty of ArtsShira Borkhov, cinematographer and film studentThe discussion will explore Yvonne’s body of work, her distinctive visual language,her influence on Israeli cinema, and the legacy she leaves behind.In the second part of the evening, filmmaker Abeer Zeibak Haddad will join thepanel and present a 12-minute excerpt from her film Women of Freedom,photographed by Yvonne Miklós.Zeibak Haddad, for whom Yvonne served as cinematographer on three films, willreflect on their creative collaboration and on Yvonne’s significant contribution to herfilmmaking journey.The evening will conclude with a special memorial video created by Yvonne’sstudents and former pupils, featuring photographs, behind-the-scenes moments, andselected excerpts from her films.An evening of remembrance, creativity, and tribute to a woman who viewed theworld through her camera with sensitivity, courage, and extraordinaryhumanity.
