Cat Ballou

Wyoming, late 19th century. When Frankie Ballou refuses to sell his ranch to make way for the railroad, a hired gunman seals his fate. Determined to avenge her father, Cat Ballou recruits the legendary Kid Shelleen, only to discover he is the drunkest gunslinger in the West. Joined by two eager suitors, this unlikely band sets off on a wild quest for revenge. Playfully overturning the conventions of the fading Western genre, Cat Ballou replaces mythic heroes with a spirited, fearless heroine who knows exactly how to handle the men around her. With its irreverent humor and irresistible musical interludes, this delightful Western parody remains as charming as ever.
