Homo Argentum

Drawing inspiration from the great Italian comedies of the 1960s and 1970s, directors Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat weave together 16 wickedly funny, ironic, and often absurd tales of human folly. From the tangled complexities of love and family to the absurdities of everyday life and the alienation of the modern workplace, each episode exposes the quirks, contradictions, and peculiarities of human nature. The result is a biting portrait of Argentine society, yet one whose humor and insights resonate far beyond its borders. At the heart of it all is Guillermo Francella, who transforms himself into a dazzling array of characters, bringing each story to life with impeccable comic timing. Wild, irreverent, and razor-sharp, Homo Argentum is a dark comedy that became a major box-office sensation. Even Argentine President Javier Milei seized upon the film to attack his political opponents, though its satirical arrows may be aimed in more directions than he would care to admit.
