A journey through the observation journals of Amit Geffen, a young birdwatcher whose devotion to birds began in childhood and continued until his death from a rare illness at the age of 21. Knowing his time was limited, why did Amit choose to spend it watching birds? Why was it so important to record every species he encountered? Following the paths traced in Amit's journals and through conversations with those who loved him, the film becomes a meditation on our impulse to observe the living world and to leave a record of what we have seen. It explores how the simple act of bearing witness—to a bird in flight, to a passing moment, to life itself—can become a way of creating meaning, even in the face of mortality.
