After the death of her mother, Nora’s estranged father Gustav—a celebrated filmmaker—returns with an unexpected offer: he wants her to star in the leading role of his new autobiographical film. When Nora declines, the part is given to a rising American actress, setting the project on a different course. Caught between the lingering absence of the mother they loved, the reappearance of a father long gone, and the unfolding creation of the film, Nora and her sister Agnes find themselves wandering through a landscape of grief, memory, and conflicting desires, searching for a way to begin anew.
