The Social Reckoning

In 2019, convinced that Facebook was fueling violence and deepening divisions, employee Frances Haugen decided to expose the secrets behind the digital giant. She turned to Wall Street Journal reporter Jeff Horwitz, whose investigations laid bare the damaging power of the platform’s algorithms and the company’s failure to confront it, sparking congressional hearings. Fifteen years after The Social Network, Aaron Sorkin returns to the world of Facebook with his trademark razor-sharp dialogue, fiery confrontations, and moral dilemmas that defy easy answers. The result is a searing, politically charged drama that gazes upon a fractured America with anger and urgency, searching for the fading ideals of responsibility, solidarity, and fairness.
