About the movie: West Side Story

West Side Story

Romeo and Juliet transposed to the world of New York's street gangs. The gang war between the Jets and the Sharks becomes even more complicated when Maria, the Sharks' leader's sister, and Tony, the Jets' leader's best friend, fall in love. West Side Story captured the social tensions of the time and packed them into a brilliant musical brought to the screen in a completely new cinematic style.
