I Wish That

On a shared journey, a mother and daughter play a game in which each sentence gives birth to a new imaginary world – one that feels almost tangible. “I wish we had a farm. I wish we had a farm with lots of animals in the yard. I wish we had a farm with lots of animals in the yard and cats inside the house…” Out of this exchange of words emerges a movement dialogue – a ping-pong of motion, trust, and closeness – that reveals the delicate bond between parent and child, between the desire to merge and the need to separate.

This dance performance invites audiences to reflect on the deep and unique connections they weave with their children.

Dafi Altabeb, the life and creative partner of Nini Moshe and mother of Sofia, is the recipient of the Minister of Culture Award for a Young Choreographer in the years 2012, 2013, and 2016; the Rosenblum Award of the Tel Aviv Municipality for 2014; and the 2018 Minister of Culture Award for the performance of the work ITS NOW. ITS NEVER. She has been creating with passion since 2005 and is a member of the Choreographers Association. She is the artistic director and choreographer of the “Dafi Altabeb Dance Company”.
