A breathtaking theatrical adaptation of one of the most beloved novels of all time, written by Austrian-Jewish author Stefan Zweig, arrives at the Habima National Theatre in a world premiere, adapted by one of Israel’s most established and acclaimed directors, Hanan Snir.

Christina, a young woman from a poor village, finds her world turned upside down when she receives a mysterious invitation to stay at a luxurious Swiss hotel.
The unimaginable wealth, abundance, and music overwhelm her and lead her to assume a false identity as an aristocrat.
When the deception is uncovered, she is expelled in disgrace, returning to her bleak and impoverished life.
But one who has tasted paradise does not give up so easily…
Christina resolves to take a radical step that will change her life forever.
A poetic, fast-paced production accompanied by live music performed by three musicians, that traces the fine line between happiness and despair.
