A crude, deeply human, and irreverent road movie in the tradition of South American magical realism. Ishmael, the son of a brothel madam in a remote town, is fed up with his miserable life, his overbearing mother, and the fact that everyone in town calls him a "son of a bitch." Together with a talking stray dog, he embarks on a peril-filled, hallucinatory journey across a harsh wasteland to find the father he has never met. The rough animation style perfectly complements the characters flawed nature in a way that live-action cinema never could.
