A moving personal documentary that blends video and animation. A Puerto Rican director, raised in an immigrant family in the United States, documented his family in a Northern California trailer park over a period of 20 years. He and his elderly mother cope with the pain of losing their loved ones by recreating family moments through animation, miniatures, and motion capture. In a healing creative journey, mother and son make peace with the past, say what was left unsaid when it felt too late, reinterpret their lives, and rediscover one another. Between laughter and tears, they realize that the act of creation is a tool for overcoming and letting go.
Winner of the Special Jury Award for Creative Expression (NEXT) at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival.
