Mayu Shviro and Nur Bar Goren arrive at AMAMA with The Old Man and the Sea — a performance combining original music and an animated film inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s novella.

Inspired by musical traditions from the East (Azerbaijan and Turkey), classical music, improvisation, and the sounds of nature, the performance is accompanied by an animated film created by Mayo and Micha Israeli, based on her paintings and inspired by Japanese calligraphy.

On stage, cello and percussion accompany the film live, creating a multi-sensory experience that invites the audience to immerse themselves in the story through sound, imagery, and the inner world of the work. Over the past year, the performance has been presented at festivals in Israel and abroad, and has been nominated at several international animation festivals.

מאיו שבירו ונור בר גורן מגיעות ל-AMAMA עם The Old Man and the Sea — מופע המשלב מוזיקה מקורית וסרט אנימציה שנוצרו בהשראת ספרו של ארנסט המינגוויי.

המוזיקה מושפעת ממסורות מן המזרח (אזרבייג׳אן, תורכיה), מוזיקה קלאסית, אלתור וצלילי טבע, נשזרת בסרט אנימציה שיצרה מאיו יחד עם מיכה ישראלי, המבוסס על ציוריה בהשראת הקליגרפיה היפנית.

יחד על הבמה, צ׳לו וכלי הקשה מלווים את הסרט בזמן אמת ויוצרים חוויה רב-חושית המזמינה את הקהל לצלול אל הסיפור, דרך הצלילים, הדימויים והעולם הפנימי של היצירה. בשנה האחרונה הוצג המופע בפסטיבלים בארץ ובעולם והיה מועמד במספר פסטיבלי אנימציה בינלאומיים.
